The glory of painting on gessoed wood is that if you don't like your first try, you can (mostly -- some colors stain a bit!) wipe the colors right off with a wet paper towel. When you have finished painting it how you like it, clear coat it with spray paint -- my favorite is Krylon Triple Thick Clear Glaze!
